Tip: copy Total Conducted and Total Attended from ERP → Attendance Register. Subject-wise mode accepts L/T/P/S pairs like 12/15.
Per KL University’s published attendance policy, every student must maintainminimum 85% attendance in every course to be eligible for the semester-end examination. Between 75% and 85%, shortage can becondoned up to 10% on medical grounds with certificates and approvals. Below 75% in any course, the student is detained — and the policy states this is not relaxed. (Law programs follow 70% / 65%.)
Crucially, attendance-based marks consider all L-T-P components cumulatively, not theory alone — so skipping only labs or only tutorials still drags the same course percentage. This student attendance calculator for KLU applies exactly that logic.
The attendance rate formula behind every ERP register and this calculator:
KLU courses carry an LTPS credit structure — Lecture, Tutorial, Practical, and Skilling hours. Your ERP register lists attended/conducted against each component. In Subject-wise mode, type each as a compact pair:
Leave any component blank to skip it (electives with an "X-0-0" structure, for example). The calculator totals only what you fill — exactly like the ERP’s cumulative method.
You attended 51 out of 60 classes: (51 ÷ 60) × 100 =85.00% — Safe, with exactly 0 safe bunks left (51 ÷ 0.85 − 60 = 0). Bunk one more (51/61 = 83.6%) and you slide into condonation.
You attended 36 out of 48: 75.00% — the condonation floor. To climb back to 85% you must attend the next⌈(0.85 × 48 − 36) ÷ 0.15⌉ = 32 classes in a row. Recovery gets brutal fast — which is why the projection table shows your next 5 classes both ways.
| Attendance | Status (all programs) | Law programs |
|---|---|---|
| ≥ 85% | ✅ Safe — exam eligible | ≥ 70% safe |
| 75 – 84.99% | ⚠️ Condonation zone (medical proof, up to 10%) | 65 – 69.99% |
| < 75% | ⛔ Detained in the course | < 65% detained |
Per KLU’s published policy (kluniversity.in). Condonation needs medical certificates and department approvals; summer-term courses allow no condonation.
CRT (Campus Recruitment Training) sessions are tracked separately from regular courses in most KLU schools. Add CRT as its own subject row in Subject-wise mode and read the same verdict — but confirm with your CRT coordinator whether a separate CRT cut-off applies to placements.
Conducted counts follow the university’s academic calendar — commencement date, working days, holidays, and exam breaks. Because ERP already folds all of that in, always calculate from ERP conducted figures rather than counting calendar days yourself. Late-admission and transfer students are counted from their date of admission.
FAQ
Subject percentage = (Total Attended ÷ Total Conducted) × 100, counted cumulatively across all L-T-P components of the course. Overall attendance averages every course the same way. Enter the ERP "Attended" and "Conducted" figures in the calculator above — Quick mode for one total, Subject-wise LTPS mode for the full ERP copy.
85% in every course to write the semester-end exam. Between 75–85% you can be condoned on medical grounds (with certificates and approvals); below 75% you are detained in that course with no relaxation. Law programs (BBA-LLB/LLB/LLM) follow 70% / 65% instead.
LTPS = Lecture, Tutorial, Practical, Skilling — the components a KLU course is taught in. Your ERP Attendance Register shows attended/conducted counts per component, and the official percentage combines them cumulatively. The Subject-wise tab mirrors this: type each component as attended/conducted (e.g. 12/15).
Go to newerp.kluniversity.in and log in with your student credentials, open the Attendance Register, select your academic year and semester, and press Search. Copy each subject’s Total Conducted and Total Attended into this calculator — no password or ERP login is ever asked for here.
Safe bunks = floor(Attended ÷ 0.85 − Conducted). Example: 51 attended out of 60 → 51/0.85 − 60 = 0 more bunks (exactly 85.0%). The calculator shows your live bunk allowance plus how many consecutive classes you must attend if you slip below target.
CRT (Campus Recruitment Training) sessions are tracked separately from regular courses in many departments. Treat CRT like another subject row: enter its conducted/attended counts in Subject-wise mode and read the same safe/condone/detained verdict. Confirm with your CRT coordinator whether your school enforces a separate CRT cut-off.
Conducted-class counts follow the university academic calendar (commencement date, working days, holidays, exam breaks). Your ERP register already reflects it — so always calculate from ERP conducted figures, not from counting calendar days yourself.
The same formula: attendance rate = (present ÷ total held) × 100 per student per course, marked each period and totalled in the ERP register. Faculty and class advisors can use Subject-wise mode to cross-check any student’s standing in seconds.
No. Unlike extension-based tools that need a laptop and ERP access, this calculator runs in any mobile or desktop browser with manual entry — no install, no login, no data stored. Bookmark it and re-check after every ERP update.
Not automatically. 75–85% is the condonation zone: submit medical certificates and case documents through your department/HoD for approval. Below 75% detention is final for the course. The result panel labels your exact zone so you know whether to file condonation or plan recovery.
No — it is an independent free tool that implements KLU’s published attendance policy (85% / 75% / detained). It is not affiliated with KLEF, KL University, or the ERP portal. Your ERP register is always the final authority.
This calculator implements KLU’s published slabs (85% safe, 75–85% condonation, below-75% detained), combines L-T-P-S components cumulatively like the ERP, judges every subject individually, and rounds only the final display. Policies vary by program and year — your ERP Attendance Register is always final. Independent free tool, not affiliated with KLEF, KL University, or its ERP. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or tracked.
